Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care to pediatric patients on a Med/Surg unit
• Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions, reporting changes to the care team
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments as prescribed
• Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and families to develop and adjust care plans
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions
• Maintain a safe, comforting environment that supports healing and recovery

Qualifications

• Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association preferred)
• PALS certification highly desired
• Previous pediatric and/or medical-surgical nursing experience preferred
• Ability to adapt quickly to a variety of patient situations and unit needs

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities with patients, families, and teams
• Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and medication administration
• Ability to prioritize care in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• A compassionate, empathetic approach to pediatric care
