Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care to medical-surgical patients
• Assess, plan, and implement individualized nursing interventions
• Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies safely
• Monitor patient vitals and response to treatment, adjusting care as needed
• Collaborate with physicians and the care team to optimize patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families on care plans and discharge instructions
• Document care thoroughly and maintain accurate patient records
• Respond quickly to changes in patient condition and escalate appropriately

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana or compact state
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Previous Med/Surg or acute care nursing experience preferred
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work flexible per diem shifts, including some weekends or holidays as needed
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of medical-surgical nursing principles and evidence-based practices
• Comfort with IV therapy, wound care, and patient monitoring
• Strong documentation skills with electronic health records (EHR)
• Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Compassionate bedside manner and patient advocacy
• Adaptability and collaboration in a team setting
