Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care to laboring mothers and postpartum families, supporting mom/baby couplets from delivery through recovery
• Monitor fetal heart rates and contraction patterns using OB Trace Vue, promptly identifying and responding to changes
• Titrate and manage critical drips such as magnesium sulfate, oxytocin, and other medications during antepartum and labor
• Collaborate with the care team to support newborn stabilization, including troubleshooting CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen
• Assist with circulating for the baby during C-sections while the surgical team manages the procedure
• Float to MSP/ED as needed to provide one-on-one patient safety support

Qualifications

• Active RN license in North Dakota or a compact state
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications
• Ability to pass fit testing (no facial hair interfering with respirator seal)
• Comfortable floating to MSP/ED and working in a rural hospital setting

Knowledge & Skills

• Electronic fetal monitoring with OB Trace Vue
• Proficiency in MEDITECH charting system
• Expertise in titrating magnesium and oxytocin drips
• Postpartum care and mom/baby couplet care
• Neonatal respiratory equipment knowledge (CPAP, BiPAP, high flow)
• Strong communication, teamwork, and independence in a rural healthcare environment
