Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, personalized care to mothers and newborns throughout labor, delivery, and postpartum
• Monitor maternal and fetal vital signs, intervene promptly when needed, and advocate for patient safety
• Assist with vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and emergency obstetric procedures
• Educate and empower families on newborn care, breastfeeding, and postpartum recovery
• Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and the nursing team to deliver exceptional birth experiences
• Document patient assessments and interventions accurately while maintaining a calm, supportive environment

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana or a compact state
• Current BLS certification required; NRP certification strongly preferred
• Previous experience in Labor and Delivery or mother-baby nursing is a plus
• Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to stay calm in fast-paced situations
• A genuine passion for supporting families during one of life's most meaningful moments

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in fetal heart monitoring and interpretation
• Knowledge of obstetric emergencies and interventions
• Strong assessment skills for maternal and neonatal care
• Comfortable using electronic health records (EHR) systems
• Excellent communication and patient education abilities
