Roles & Responsibilities

Provide high-quality, compassionate critical care to adult ICU patients
Assess patient condition, monitor vital signs and respond to changes promptly
Administer medications, manage ventilators and perform complex clinical interventions
Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists and multidisciplinary teams
Document patient care accurately and communicate clear handoffs at shift change
Participate in unit-based quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Qualifications

Current, active RN license in the state of Louisiana
Experience working in an ICU environment (critical care experience preferred)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) highly recommended
Comfortable with 12-hour clinical shifts and the demands of critical care nursing
Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking and communication skills
Professional attitude, teamwork focus and commitment to patient-centered care

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Critical care assessment and management
Ventilator management and airway skills
Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia recognition
Medication administration in an ICU setting
Effective interdisciplinary communication and handoffs
Documentation best practices and electronic medical record familiarity
