Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high quality, patient-centered critical care in the ICU with compassion and clinical expertise
• Assess, monitor and interpret complex patient data while adjusting care plans in real time
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, respiratory therapists and pharmacists to optimize outcomes
• Manage ventilators, hemodynamic support and advanced monitoring for critically ill patients
• Provide clear, timely patient and family education and support during stressful moments
• Document care accurately and promptly to maintain continuity and safety
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana or compact RN license where applicable
• Critical care or ICU experience as indicated by prior ICU roles or training
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) strongly preferred
• Comfort with ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring and vasoactive medication titration
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts and adapt to ICU staffing patterns
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• BSN encouraged for career growth within the health system

Knowledge & Skills

• Advanced assessment and clinical reasoning in critical care settings
• Familiarity with common ICU equipment including ventilators, infusion pumps and invasive monitoring
• Knowledge of sepsis protocols, ventilator-associated event prevention and ICU sedation practices
• Ability to prioritize care in high-acuity situations and respond calmly under pressure
• Strong documentation skills and comfort using electronic health record systems
