Roles & Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care to medical/surgical and critically ill patients, ensuring safe, high-quality outcomes from admission through discharge
Operate and manage advanced monitoring and life support equipment, including ventilators, A-lines, central lines, chest tubes, and multiple IV pumps
Perform comprehensive patient assessments and implement established policies and procedures with minimal supervision
Act as a clinical leader on the unit: mentor and precept staff, give direction to RNs, LPNs, CNAs, and ancillary staff
Coordinate discharge planning and collaborate with providers, charge nurses, supervisors, and leadership to optimize patient flow and care transitions

Qualifications

Current Montana RN licensure required
BLS and ACLS required
PALS, EPNC, TNCC preferred (nice-to-have certifications that boost your candidacy)
Recent experience in critical care and practice in an advanced medical/surgical unit required
Demonstrated ability to precept and provide clinical leadership

Education

Degree from a nursing program (RN) — recent clinical training in med-surg and critical care preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Advanced nursing principles and procedures with strong patient assessment skills
Ventilator management and care for patients requiring ventilatory support
Central and arterial line (A-line) care, invasive line management, and chest tube management
Proficiency with multiple IV pumps and advanced monitoring equipment
Clinical leadership, effective communication, and basic office equipment use
