Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, specialized care for adolescents in an inpatient behavioral health unit
• Administer medications and monitor patient responses
• Perform thorough patient assessments and document in Cerner EMR
• Implement individualized care plans and behavioral interventions
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support positive patient outcomes
• Maintain a calm and safe environment for patients

Qualifications

• Active RN license in North Carolina or compact state
• Minimum 2 years of behavioral health nursing experience
• Current BLS certification
• CPI certification required
• Experience with pediatric behavioral health preferred
• Strong communication and de-escalation skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Medication administration and safety
• Patient assessment and evaluation
• Proficiency with Cerner EMR
• Experience with Pyxis medication dispensing system
• Ability to operate Dynamap vital signs monitor
• Understanding of behavioral health conditions and interventions
• Crisis prevention and intervention techniques
