Roles & Responsibilities

• Treat patients under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist to deliver high-quality care
• Record daily treatment notes and weekly progress notes in compliance with PT Board requirements
• Assist in maintaining a safe, organized, and well-stocked treatment area
• Participate in patient care and rehabilitation conferences to support interdisciplinary planning
• Provide caregiver training and instruction to patients families and nursing staff in preparation for discharge
• Communicate patient progress, concerns, and plans with supervisors and the healthcare team
• Report and follow up on equipment issues to ensure reliable treatment tools
• Support in-service training programs and help train restorative aides and other staff

Qualifications

• Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant in good standing with the state board (required)
• Proficiency with Casamba and PointClickCare or similar EMR systems
• Strong documentation skills to meet daily treatment and weekly progress note requirements
• Ability to work collaboratively with nursing and therapy teams and to train caregivers
• Committed to meeting continuing education requirements as required by state practice

Education

• Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (state license required) and maintenance of required continuing education

• Patient care and rehabilitation best practices

• Caregiver training and discharge preparation
• Electronic medical records (EMR) entry, including Casamba and PointClickCare
• Equipment maintenance and safety reporting
