Roles & Responsibilities

Provide physical therapy treatments under the direction and supervision of a licensed physical therapist
Implement treatment plans and modify interventions as directed
Document patient encounter findings and treatments
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care
Develop and conduct patient education programs

Qualifications

Associate degree in Physical Therapy Assistant studies from a CAPTE-accredited program
Current licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant in Alaska
Basic Life Support CPR certification
Valid driver's license
At least 1 year of experience in acute care hospital and clinical out-patient settings

Education

Associate degree in Physical Therapy Assistant studies

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of anatomy, musculoskeletal physiology, and biomechanics
Skills in treatment planning and implementation for patients with various diagnoses
Ability to utilize adaptive devices and durable medical equipment
Effective communication and documentation skills
