Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments to ensure a safe, welcoming environment
• Assist orthodontists during procedures, including bonding, wire changes, and appliance adjustments
• Take and process dental X-rays and impressions with care and precision
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and appliance care so they leave with confidence
• Maintain accurate patient records and digital documentation
• Deliver friendly, reassuring support to patients of all ages, especially those nervous about treatment

Qualifications

• Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or state-specific certification where applicable
• X-ray certification (Radiology License) in Maryland
• Previous orthodontic or dental assisting experience preferred but not required – we welcome enthusiastic learners
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Excellent communication and patient care skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization techniques
• Familiarity with dental software and digital record-keeping
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Compassionate and patient-centered approach
