Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments to maintain a safe, welcoming clinical environment
• Assist the orthodontist during exams, adjustments, and procedures to ensure efficient patient care
• Take and process dental X-rays, digital scans, and impressions accurately
• Educate patients and families on oral hygiene and orthodontic appliance care
• Maintain accurate patient records and coordinate treatment schedules
• Deliver gentle, compassionate care to help every patient leave with a smile

Qualifications

• Certified or licensed Dental Assistant in Maryland (or ability to obtain certification)
• Orthodontic experience is a plus, but a positive attitude and willingness to learn are a must
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced clinical setting

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of dental instruments, terminology, and sterilization protocols
• Experience with digital X-rays, impressions, and orthodontic software
• Strong attention to detail and infection control practices
• Comfortable using practice management systems for scheduling and records
• Team player with a patient-first mindset
