Roles & Responsibilities

• Take and document patient vital signs, including blood pressure and pulse oximetry, to ensure safe sedation and surgery.
• Assist with nitrous oxide and IV sedation under the supervision of the oral surgeon.
• Capture panoramic X-rays to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
• Assist during wisdom tooth surgeries, including preparing the operatory and passing instruments.
• Provide clear post-operative instructions to patients and caregivers for optimal recovery.
• Maintain a clean, welcoming clinical environment and ensure all equipment is ready.

Qualifications

• Experience with nitrous oxide and IV sedation is required.
• Proficient in taking panoramic X-rays.
• Familiarity with wisdom tooth extraction procedures.
• Dental assistant certification or license as required by Virginia state regulations.
• Current BLS/CPR certification preferred.
• Strong patient care and communication skills.
