Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive respiratory care to critically ill neonates in the NICU, including oxygen therapy, ventilation management, and airway support
• Assess, monitor, and document the respiratory status of infants, adjusting treatment plans as needed
• Collaborate with neonatologists, nurses, and the care team to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Educate and support families on respiratory treatments and home care needs
• Respond quickly to respiratory emergencies and participate in neonatal resuscitation efforts
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with safety and infection control standards

Qualifications

• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Active Respiratory Therapist license or eligibility to obtain one in Ohio
• Previous NICU or neonatal respiratory care experience strongly preferred
• Ability to complete required health screenings, including fit test, drug screen, and immunizations
• Comfortable working with electronic health records and respiratory therapy equipment

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of neonatal respiratory physiology and ventilation strategies
• Experience with ventilators, CPAP, and oxygen delivery systems
• Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills in high-pressure situations
• Effective communication and teamwork skills
• Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care
