Roles & Responsibilities
- Direct pharmacy operations for assigned sites, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant medication use across the region.
- Assist the Director of Pharmacy in developing and implementing policies, procedures, quality assurance processes, and performance standards.
- Lead budgeting, inventory control, and operational planning to meet productivity and financial targets.
- Collaborate with medical staff and hospital leadership to foster strong interdisciplinary relationships and drive patient-focused outcomes.
- Participate on Pharmacy and Therapeutics, Safety, Information Systems, Patient Medication Safety, and Nursing/Pharmacy committees.
- Oversee pharmacy information systems coordination, including charge systems, inventory control, and system-level program development.
- Manage human resources duties for pharmacy staff: recruiting, onboarding, performance evaluations, development, corrective actions, and morale building.
- Monitor metrics and continuously adjust plans to meet partner engagement, budgetary, productivity, and patient outcome goals.
- Perform duties of the pharmacy manager as needed and take on other assigned responsibilities to support system pharmacy goals.
Qualifications
- PharmD degree from an accredited college or university (required).
- Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY2 pharmacy residency in health-system pharmacy administration or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 5 years of supervisory or management experience in pharmacy operations.
- Active Wisconsin pharmacist license (required).
- Demonstrated experience with pharmacy budgeting, inventory control, and pharmacy information systems.
- Strong leadership, communication, collaboration, and staff development skills.
Education
- PharmD (required)
- ASHP-accredited PGY2 residency in health-system pharmacy administration preferred or equivalent work experience
Knowledge & Skills
- Deep understanding of pharmacy operations, regulatory compliance, and quality assurance.
- Experience developing and implementing policies, procedures, and performance standards.
- Proficiency with pharmacy information systems, inventory management, and charge systems.
- Financial acumen for budgeting and operational planning.
- Ability to build collaborative relationships with medical staff and cross-functional teams.
- Skilled in staff coaching, performance management, and HR-related pharmacy functions.
