Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform a full range of mammography exams accurately and compassionately for patients
• Apply mammography imaging principles and techniques to produce reliable diagnostic images
• Operate and maintain imaging equipment with attention to safety and quality
• Protect patient privacy and maintain confidentiality at all times
• Communicate effectively with patients, families and interdepartmental teams to coordinate care
• Contribute to quality assurance efforts and follow imaging protocols and safety standards
• Maintain punctual, consistent attendance and provide dependable coverage for assigned shifts
• Complete required pledges/certifications such as Image Wisely and Image Gently when applicable

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technology program (required)
• Current ARRT certification in Radiography and Mammography modalities (required)
• Current Oregon state radiologic technologist license (required)
• American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS (required)
• Minimum one year of previous mammography experience (required)
• Stereotactic biopsy experience preferred
• Associates or Bachelors degree highly preferred
• Willingness to obtain Image Wisely and Image Gently pledges within 30 days of hire if not already completed

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technology program (required)
• Associates or Bachelors degree preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in mammography and radiography techniques
• Comfortable using imaging equipment and troubleshooting basic issues
• Computer proficiency and familiarity with relevant software
• Strong patient care and communication skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently with minimal supervision
• Experience with stereotactic biopsy imaging techniques is a plus
• Familiarity with radiation safety practices and Image Wisely/Image Gently principles
