Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to pediatric clinic patients within the scope of LPN licensure
- Take and document vital signs, assess patient status, and escalate concerns to providers or RN as needed
- Triage patient phone calls thoughtfully and efficiently, prioritizing safety and continuity of care
- Manage prescription refill requests and complete prior authorizations to keep families on track with medications
- Serve as primary liaison between patients, providers, and clinic staff to ensure smooth care coordination
- Give direction to CNAs and Schedulers while collaborating closely with Providers, Coordinators, Clinical Managers/Supervisors, and RNs
Qualifications
- Current Montana LPN license in good standing
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- Comfortable with pediatric patient care, triage, vital signs, medication management, and prior authorization workflows
- Experience supervising CNAs or coordinating with scheduling staff is a plus
- Able to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary care team and follow state/federal continuing education requirements
Education
- Graduate of a Nursing Program (LPN)
- BLS certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Pediatric nursing fundamentals and patient assessment
- Triage protocols and phone triage best practices
- Medication management and prescription refill processes
- Prior authorization procedures and payer communication
- Clear patient communication and interdisciplinary teamwork
- Basic supervision/leadership for CNAs and front-office schedulers
