Geriatric Nursing Assistant
Location: Bowie, Maryland
Start Date: 08-02-2026
Contract Type: Per-Diem
Shift Type: Flexible shifts including 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM night shifts
Candidate Pay Rate: $18 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Provide compassionate care and emotional support to elderly residents
- Monitor and record vital signs, reporting changes to nursing staff
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents
- Assist with mobility and transfers using proper techniques
- Document care provided and communicate effectively with the care team
Qualifications
- Active Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification in Maryland
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- CPR certification preferred
- Experience in long-term care or geriatrics is a plus
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong patient care skills with a compassionate approach
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Time management and organizational skills
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, and lift as needed
