Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform dental prophylaxis and periodontal therapy for patients of all ages
• Conduct comprehensive oral health assessments and document findings
• Administer local anesthesia and apply fluoride treatments as needed
• Take and interpret dental x-rays to assist in diagnosis
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and preventive care techniques
• Maintain sterilization and infection control standards in the operatory
• Collaborate with dentists to develop individualized patient care plans

Qualifications

• Active Dental Hygienist license in the state of Virginia
• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program
• Current CPR/AED certification
• Excellent communication and patient education skills
• Experience with dental practice management software is a plus
• Strong dedication to providing compassionate, patient-centered care

Knowledge & Skills

• In-depth knowledge of dental hygiene procedures and instrumentation
• Understanding of dental radiography and safety protocols
• Proficiency in patient oral health education
• Knowledge of infection control and OSHA standards
• Ability to work efficiently and collaboratively in a dental team
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
