Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide thorough dental cleanings and preventive care to patients of all ages
- Assess patients' oral health and report findings to the dentist
- Educate patients on proper brushing, flossing, and overall oral hygiene
- Take and develop dental x-rays as needed
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure infection control protocols are followed
- Create a welcoming and comfortable experience for every patient
Qualifications
- Active Dental Hygienist license in the state of Virginia
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Graduation from an accredited dental hygiene program
- Experience with dental software and digital x-rays
- Excellent communication and patient care skills
Knowledge & Skills
- In-depth knowledge of dental hygiene procedures and best practices
- Proficiency in administering local anesthesia and nitrous oxide (if applicable)
- Strong understanding of infection control and sterilization standards
- Ability to educate patients effectively
- Comfort using electronic health records (EHR)
