Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional dental hygiene care to patients, including cleanings, exams, and education
• Assess patient oral health and develop individualized treatment plans
• Administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide as needed
• Take and process dental X-rays accurately
• Document patient care in electronic health records
• Collaborate with dentists and dental assistants to ensure comprehensive care

Qualifications

• Active Dental Hygienist license in Virginia
• Current CPR certification
• Graduate from an accredited dental hygiene program
• Experience with dental software (e.g., Dentrix) preferred but not required
• Strong communication and patient education skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of periodontal disease management and prophylaxis
• Proficiency in scaling and root planing techniques
• Understanding of infection control protocols
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent interpersonal skills to build patient trust
