Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist the lead dentist during a variety of pediatric dental procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow.
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments to maintain the highest standards of safety and cleanliness.
- Take and process dental X-rays while ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Educate young patients and their families on proper oral hygiene and post-procedure care.
- Maintain accurate patient records and manage appointment scheduling to optimize clinic flow.
- Provide a warm, friendly, and reassuring presence to help children feel at ease during their visits.
Qualifications
- Current Dental Assistant certification or license as required by the state of Wisconsin.
- Experience working in a pediatric dental setting is a plus, but a passion for working with children is a must.
- BLS/CPR certification preferred.
- Radiography (X-ray) certification to perform dental X-rays.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially with young patients.
- Ability to work the specified evening shift schedule.
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong understanding of dental terminology, instruments, and procedures.
- Knowledge of infection control standards and sterilization techniques.
- Proficiency in dental practice management software.
- Skill in taking dental radiographs and patient charting.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Empathy and patience when working with children and anxious patients.
