Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the lead dentist during a variety of pediatric dental procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow.
• Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments to maintain the highest standards of safety and cleanliness.
• Take and process dental X-rays while ensuring patient comfort and safety.
• Educate young patients and their families on proper oral hygiene and post-procedure care.
• Maintain accurate patient records and manage appointment scheduling to optimize clinic flow.
• Provide a warm, friendly, and reassuring presence to help children feel at ease during their visits.

Qualifications

• Current Dental Assistant certification or license as required by the state of Wisconsin.
• Experience working in a pediatric dental setting is a plus, but a passion for working with children is a must.
• BLS/CPR certification preferred.
• Radiography (X-ray) certification to perform dental X-rays.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially with young patients.
• Ability to work the specified evening shift schedule.

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong understanding of dental terminology, instruments, and procedures.
• Knowledge of infection control standards and sterilization techniques.
• Proficiency in dental practice management software.
• Skill in taking dental radiographs and patient charting.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Empathy and patience when working with children and anxious patients.
