Certified Nursing Assistant - Acute Care
Location: Charlottesville, Virginia
Start Date: 08-14-2026
Contract Type: Per-Diem
Shift Type: Flexible per diem shifts, variable 12.5-hour acute care shifts, as needed
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $22 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate and personalized care to acute care patients
- Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and eating
- Take and record vital signs, reporting any changes to the nursing team
- Help patients with mobility, transfers, and positioning
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable patient environment
- Document patient care accurately and promptly
- Collaborate with nurses and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best outcomes
Qualifications
- Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in Virginia
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Previous acute care or hospital experience preferred, but new grads welcome to apply
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Compassionate, dependable, and detail-oriented approach to patient care
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of patient care principles and best practices
- Vital signs monitoring and documentation
- Understanding of infection control procedures
- Ability to work effectively within a team
- Adaptability to changing patient needs and unit demands
