Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living — bathing, dressing, mobility and toileting — with respect and dignity
• Take and record vital signs accurately and escalate changes to the nursing team
• Provide compassionate bedside care and emotional support to patients and families
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control practices
• Document patient care thoroughly and communicate handoffs clearly to the care team
• Support nursing staff with procedures and daily unit operations to keep things running smoothly
• Participate in training and competency checks to keep skills sharp and current

Qualifications

• Valid CNA certification or state-approved nursing assistant credential
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• License/Certificate Verification completed prior to start
• Ability to pass VHC drug screen and required health screenings
• Up-to-date immunizations and TB testing as listed in job requirements
• Professional, patient-focused attitude and strong communication skills

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an accredited/state-approved CNA training program required

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on patient care and safe transfer techniques
• Accurate vital signs measurement and basic clinical observation
• Infection control practices and use of PPE
• Clear, timely documentation and care reporting
• Teamwork, time management, and the ability to prioritize care tasks
• Compassionate patient interaction and cultural sensitivity
