Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide direct, compassionate patient care across the perioperative spectrum, from pre-op through PACU
• Act as a vigilant patient advocate during surgical procedures, ensuring safety and comfort
• Collaborate seamlessly with surgeons and anesthesia providers to optimize patient outcomes
• Prepare and maintain the operating room, ensuring all equipment and supplies are ready for each case
• Skillfully position, prep, and drape patients for a variety of surgical procedures
• Monitor and document patient condition, pain levels, and response to interventions
• Educate patients and families on post-operative care and pain management
• Participate in performance improvement activities to enhance surgical care quality

Qualifications

• Active Idaho or compact state RN license required upon hire
• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing (Associates, Diploma, or BSN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire
• Advanced Life Support (ACLS) certification within one year of hire
• PALS, NRP, and ATT certifications preferred but not required at start
• Multiple years of surgical experience strongly preferred

Education

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with Associates, Diploma or BSN Degree

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in surgical nursing, including circulating and scrub roles
• Strong understanding of perioperative care from neonate to geriatric
• Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Point Click EMR
• Knowledge of instrument sterilization and biological monitoring
• Ability to assess and respond to physiologic changes quickly
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced OR environment
