Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate respiratory care to patients recovering from illness, injury, or surgery
• Administer oxygen therapy, aerosol treatments, and ventilator management
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans in collaboration with the rehab team
• Educate patients and families on respiratory health and home care techniques
• Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with clinical protocols
• Respond to respiratory emergencies and support code situations

Qualifications

• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential
• Active Illinois state license to practice respiratory therapy
• Current BLS certification (ACLS preferred)
• Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in an acute care or rehab setting
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking abilities
• Proficiency with respiratory equipment - ventilators, nebulizers, CPAP/BiPAP, pulse oximetry
• Understanding of rehabilitation principles and patient-centered care
• Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team
