Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered occupational therapy services to help individuals regain independence in daily living activities
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans
• Perform comprehensive assessments and document patient progress accurately
• Educate patients and families on adaptive strategies, equipment, and home safety
• Participate in discharge planning to ensure smooth transitions of care
• Maintain compliance with facility policies and regulatory standards while delivering compassionate care

Qualifications

• Active Occupational Therapist license in New Mexico or eligibility to obtain one
• Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy program
• NBCOT certification preferred
• Previous experience in skilled nursing or rehabilitation settings is a plus, but new graduates are encouraged to apply
• Current BLS/CPR certification
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of occupational therapy assessments and interventions
• Experience with care planning and documentation in compliance with regulations
• Familiarity with adaptive equipment and splinting
• Excellent clinical reasoning and problem-solving abilities
• Interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients, families, and staff
• Time management and proficiency with electronic health records
