Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using age-specific criteria
• Function as a first assist and scrub OB during surgeries and deliveries
• Monitor fetal heart rates and manage high-risk obstetrical patients
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal outcomes
• Teach and mentor LPNs, PCTs, and unit secretaries to elevate team performance
• Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to hospital policies and safety standards

Qualifications

• 2+ years of OB nursing experience - required
• At least one completed travel assignment - required
• Must be able to function as a first assist and scrub OB - highly preferred
• Active Ohio or Compact RN license - required
• Active American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, NRP, STABLE, and Fetal Heart Monitoring certifications - required
• Current skills checklist relevant to OBGYN within 1 year - required

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in obstetrical nursing including labor, delivery, and postpartum care
• Proficiency in fetal heart monitoring interpretation
• Ability to scrub and assist in cesarean sections and other surgical procedures
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills for emergency situations
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities in a fast-paced unit
