Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to assigned patients during night shifts
• Perform thorough patient assessments and monitor changes in condition
• Administer medications and treatments safely and according to policy
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to coordinate patient care plans
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the EMR
• Respond promptly to emergent situations and escalate concerns when necessary
• Educate patients and families with clear, respectful communication

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in California (or compact RN with ability to obtain CA licensure)
• BLS required; ACLS and other specialty certifications preferred where applicable
• Previous acute care or med-surg experience preferred
• Comfortable working independently on per diem night shifts with strong clinical judgment
• Ability to pass background checks and meet facility credentialing requirements

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong assessment skills and the ability to prioritize patient needs
• Medication administration and IV therapy competency
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate documentation
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills during fast-paced night shifts
• Basic emergency response and critical thinking under pressure
