Roles & Responsibilities

Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to Med/Surg patients
Assess, monitor, and document patient status and progress accurately
Administer medications and treatments safely and according to policy
Coordinate care with physicians, therapists, and the interdisciplinary team
Educate patients and families on condition, treatment, and discharge plans
Participate in unit-based quality improvement and safety initiatives

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana required
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS preferred
Med/Surg clinical experience preferred (1+ years recommended)
Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and teamwork mindset
Ability to work 12-hour shifts and manage a fast-paced patient load

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Solid assessment and critical thinking skills for Med/Surg populations
Medication administration and IV therapy competency
Accurate clinical documentation and time management
Ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams
Patient and family education with attention to compassion and clarity
