Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to patients in a 25-bed adaptive acuity unit
• Manage patients with medical-surgical, telemetry, and progressive care needs (3:1 ratio for PCU care)
• Administer and monitor drips including insulin, esmolol, and sodium infusions
• Take charge responsibilities as required, leading and supporting the team during shifts
• Float to any inpatient unit within scope of practice as needed
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes

Qualifications

• 2+ years of current med surg/telemetry experience required
• Charge experience is required - must be noted on profile
• Progressive Care Unit/PCU experience strongly required
• Drip experience required (insulin, esmolol, sodium drips)
• Minimum 3 months previous travel experience required
• Active Vermont RN license or compact license required
• Active American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications required

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in med surg, telemetry, and progressive care nursing
• Skill in managing multiple drips and monitoring patient responses
• Ability to lead as charge nurse and work collaboratively
• Experience in small critical access facilities preferred
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
• Comfortable with floating to different units
