Roles & Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver total nursing care for patients in a combined Med-Surg and Acute Rehab unit
• Lead the care team as a backup Charge Nurse, ensuring smooth unit operations
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, recovery goals, and discharge planning
• Collaborate with physical, occupational, and speech therapists to maximize patient independence
• Utilize Cerner EMR to document care accurately and efficiently
• Float to other units within scope of practice as needed, supporting the entire hospital team

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Med Surg and Rehab experience
• Active Vermont RN license or multi-state compact license (NH license also accepted)
• Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications
• Charge RN experience required
• Previous travel experience of at least 3 months required
• Reliable personal vehicle required (no public transport in area)
• BSN strongly preferred

Education

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) strongly preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in medical-surgical and rehabilitation nursing
• Proven leadership and charge nurse abilities
• Strong patient and family education skills
• Proficient in Cerner electronic medical records
• Ability to adapt quickly to floating across units
