Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert labor and delivery nursing care using the nursing process and clinical judgment
• Develop, initiate and execute individualized patient care plans in collaboration with physicians and the interdisciplinary team
• Administer medications and treatments safely and in accordance with hospital policy and state practice act
• Document care and patient status clearly and timely to meet standards of care
• Support high-risk deliveries and coordinate with Level 1 Trauma resources when needed
• Participate in unit performance improvement activities and shared governance initiatives
• Escalate safety concerns and advocate for patient experience and outcomes

Qualifications

• Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• Current CPR, ACLS and NRP certifications required
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; education verification required
• Experience in high-risk labor and delivery required, with Level 1 Trauma Center experience preferred
• Strong critical thinking, documentation and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
• Ability to work nights and participate in an every 3rd weekend and holiday rotation
