Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality care to mothers and newborns during labor and delivery
• Monitor fetal heart rates and maternal vital signs, promptly identifying any complications
• Assist with deliveries, including cesarean sections, and provide immediate newborn care
• Collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, and the healthcare team to ensure safe outcomes
• Educate patients and families on postpartum care and infant feeding
• Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to safety protocols

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana
• BLS certification required
• NRP certification preferred
• Minimum 1 year of recent L&D experience
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in labor and delivery nursing procedures
• Ability to remain calm and effective in high-stress situations
• Proficiency with electronic medical records
• Excellent patient education and advocacy skills
