Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care to mothers and newborns during labor, delivery, and postpartum
• Monitor fetal heart rates and maternal vital signs, responding quickly to changes
• Assist with epidurals, inductions, and emergency C-sections
• Educate families on newborn care, breastfeeding, and recovery
• Collaborate with a dedicated team of nurses, midwives, and physicians

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Iowa or compact state
• BLS, ACLS, NRP, and NIHSS certifications required
• AWHONN/Fetal Heart Monitoring certification preferred
• Minimum 1-2 years of recent L&D experience

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in fetal monitoring and interpretation
• Strong critical thinking and rapid decision-making in high-stress situations
• Excellent communication with patients and interdisciplinary teams
• Proficiency in electronic medical records
