Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality ICU care for critically ill adult patients
• Monitor, interpret and document cardiac telemetry strips and respond to changes quickly
• Titrate drips and medication infusions safely and per protocol
• Troubleshoot ventilators and other respiratory equipment as needed
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists and the interdisciplinary team to drive excellent patient outcomes
• Chart accurately and efficiently in EPIC to maintain continuity of care
• Float to PCU or MedSurg when required, maintaining appropriate staffing ratios
• Complete unit orientation and pass the required skills assessment to ensure competency

Qualifications

• Active RN license eligible for practice in Nebraska (license to submit required)
• Minimum 2 years of ICU/critical care nursing experience (explicit requirement)
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required; NIHSS certification required
• Comfort and experience with telemetry interpretation and drip titration
• Familiarity troubleshooting ventilators and working with high-flow/CPAP/BiPAP
• Driver's license required at time of submittal and used for radius verification
• Willingness to comply with facility policies (e.g., no artificial nails in patient care areas) and to complete orientation testing (90% pass threshold)

Education

• Active RN license (ADN or BSN). BSN not explicitly required.

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care nursing and ICU best practices
• Telemetry/strip interpretation and cardiac monitoring (GE monitors)
• Drip titration for cardiac drips, insulin and sedation
• EPIC electronic charting proficiency
• Ventilator troubleshooting and respiratory support basics
• High Flow, CPAP and BiPAP familiarity
• Sepsis management and renal failure/dialysis familiarity
• Post-stent, pacemaker care and stroke/NIHSS knowledge
• Substance abuse and overdose patient management
