Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency care to patients in the ER with calm, skilled assessment and intervention
• Administer medications safely and accurately for ER, acute, and long-term care patients
• Cover cross-unit responsibilities in a small critical access hospital—be ready to jump in across ER, acute, and LTC
• Perform and assist with procedures for both acute and LTC patients when assigned to meds or ER
• Triages and escalates critical cases, coordinating with the care team to ensure patient safety
• Document patient care and communicate clearly with multidisciplinary teams and families

Qualifications

• Active Hawaii RN license required by the start of assignment (if you do not yet have it, you must apply immediately upon acceptance)
• Minimum 2 years of experience working in an Emergency Department (ED)
• Comfortable working in a critical access hospital and providing cross-unit coverage
• Experience with medication administration, med pass, and procedures for acute and LTC patients
• Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts, including weekends as scheduled

• Strong emergency care skills and acute patient assessment
• Medication administration and safe documentation practices
• Experience in long-term care needs and procedures
• Adaptability to cover multiple units in a small hospital setting
• Effective communication, teamwork, and sound clinical judgment in fast-paced situations
