Roles & Responsibilities

• Apply the nursing process to provide compassionate, patient-centered care in the Emergency Department
• Teach patients and their families about health conditions and treatment plans
• Document patient care accurately in the electronic medical record system
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate overall patient care
• Respond effectively to patient crises and emergency situations
• Demonstrate critical thinking and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Oregon (required)
• American Heart Association BLS certification (required)
• Recent emergency nurse experience (required)
• Recent acute care hospital experience within the past 5 years (required)
• ACLS, PALS, TNCC, CEN preferred or obtain within 6 months to 1 year of hire

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Flexibility to adapt to rapidly changing patient and unit needs
• Effective teaching and communication skills
• Computer proficiency, including electronic medical records
• Ability to read, write, and converse in English
• Workplace violence prevention training preferred
