Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform complex laboratory tests in hematology, immunohematology, immunology, bacteriology, microscopy, routine chemistry, and therapeutic drug monitoring
• Perform phlebotomies including arterial, capillary, and venipunctures using age-specific criteria
• Process specimens using established protocols and technical knowledge
• Calibrate, standardize, and maintain laboratory instruments
• Perform quality control, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting
• Prepare and maintain reagent supplies
• Validate and report test results accurately and in a timely manner
• Assist in developing and maintaining laboratory policies and procedures
• Orient and teach students and new employees
• Follow safety practices including biohazards, infection control, and chemical hygiene

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related specialty from an accredited college
• Certification/registration or eligibility as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) by AMT or ASCP
• Knowledge of medical technology principles, methods, materials, equipment, and techniques
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand, walk, kneel, bend, and exhibit fine motor skills

Education

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related area of specialty

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of laboratory testing protocols and quality assurance
• Skill in phlebotomy and specimen processing
• Instrument calibration and troubleshooting
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
