Inpatient/Outpatient Pharmacist

Location: Alturas, California

Start Date: 06-10-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Varied day shifts, 5-8 hour or 4-10 hour shifts, including some weekends

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $74 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Ensure safe and effective use of medications by reviewing all inpatient medication orders
Maintain compliance with State and Federal regulations for pharmaceutical services
Provide drug information to healthcare professionals and maintain the pharmacy policy manual
Manage pharmacy inventory, including Omnicell and controlled substances
Oversee drug distribution systems and recommend process improvements
Participate in quality assurance, security of controlled substances, and hazardous waste disposal
Assist with pharmacy licensure and serve as Pharmacist in Charge when needed
Provide weekend coverage for emergency medication dispensing and on-call duties

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of inpatient pharmacy experience within the last 3 years
Active California Pharmacist license (must be currently active)
Strong knowledge of State and Federal pharmacy regulations
Experience with pharmacy automation systems (e.g., Omnicell) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Excellent organizational and time management skills
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team
Proficient in pharmacy computer systems and record keeping
Knowledge of drug formulary management and cost-saving strategies
