Roles & Responsibilities

Perform direct patient cardiac diagnostic testing procedures
Provide age-specific care to patients of all ages
Serve as a professional resource to physicians, nursing staff, and hospital staff
Accurately perform echocardiogram studies and other cardiac diagnostic studies
Implement infection control practices and aseptic techniques

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED
Basic Life Support certification
Registered Cardiac Sonographer certification
2 years of experience in echocardiography

Education

High School Diploma or GED
Certificate Program in Cardiovascular Sonography

Knowledge & Skills

Cardiac diagnostic testing
Echocardiography
Patient care
EKG
Holter monitoring
Cardiac stress tests
Infection control practices
Aseptic techniques
Equipment disinfection
