Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain a sterile field in the CVOR during surgical procedures
• Assist surgeons and scrub in for complex cardiovascular and thoracic surgeries
• Handle surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment with precision
• Ensure patient safety and adherence to infection control protocols
• Collaborate with the surgical team to provide optimal patient outcomes
• Participate in on-call rotations to cover emergency cases

Qualifications

• Must have current Colorado Surgical Technologist License (CST) through DORA
• Certification in Surgical Technology from NBSTSA, AST, or NCCT
• Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association
• Minimum 3 years of recent CVOR surgical tech experience
• Ability to work 4-10-hour shifts and rotating call schedule

Education

• Graduate of an accredited scrub technologist program

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in CVOR surgical procedures and sterile technique
• Proficient in handling instrumentation for cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgeries
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced surgical environment
