Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, patient-centered anesthesia care for a wide variety of inpatient surgical procedures
• Perform thorough preoperative assessments and provide clear patient education before surgery
• Administer anesthetics and closely monitor patients throughout procedures to ensure optimal outcomes
• Document all anesthesia care accurately in Epic EMR so the whole team stays informed
• Collaborate seamlessly with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and perioperative staff to coordinate care
• Respond effectively to intraoperative and perioperative emergencies as part of the trauma team
• Contribute to ongoing quality improvement and patient safety initiatives that make care better each day

Qualifications

• Current Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) credential required
• Active RN license in Michigan or eligibility to obtain one prior to start
• Current, active board certification (not accepting candidates with lapsed certification requiring re-obtainment)
• Clinical experience in inpatient anesthesia required — new graduates are not eligible
• Proficiency with Epic EMR for anesthesia documentation
• Experience or comfort working in a Level 1 trauma center environment
• Willingness and ability to maintain a commute under one hour (position not open to long-distance commuters)
• Not open to Locum or Locum-to-Perm candidates; open to H1B and J1 visa holders

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in anesthesia care for diverse inpatient surgical cases
• Perioperative patient assessment and preoperative planning
• Strong patient monitoring and intraoperative management skills
• Accurate anesthesia documentation and familiarity with Epic EMR workflows
• Effective teamwork and communication with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and perioperative staff
• Commitment to quality improvement, patient safety, and evidence-based practice
• Ability to respond calmly and competently in trauma and emergency situations
