Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care to medical-surgical patients in a primarily surgical unit with medical overflow
• Monitor patient vitals, administer medications, and coordinate interdisciplinary care
• Maintain a 1:5-6 nurse-to-patient ratio on nightshift, ensuring quality outcomes
• Collaborate with shift supervisors and patient care techs to support unit needs
• Document accurately and communicate effectively during handoffs and rounds

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Illinois or compact state required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med-Surg experience
• BLS certification preferred
• Ability to work every other weekend and holidays as needed

• Med-surg adult nursing skills
• Surgical patient care expertise
• Night shift nursing best practices
• Strong patient monitoring and assessment abilities
• EMR proficiency and team collaboration
