Roles & Responsibilities

Prepare and set up sterile instrument trays and operating room supplies precisely
Assist surgeons and the surgical team during procedures by passing instruments and anticipating needs
Ensure strict adherence to sterile technique and OR safety protocols every case
Perform instrument counts and verify all equipment is accounted for before and after procedures
Maintain accurate documentation and support efficient case turnover
Participate in orientation and ongoing training to keep skills sharp and compliant

Qualifications

Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program or equivalent training
Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential preferred or willingness to pursue certification
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain
Comfortable working in an operating room environment with attention to detail
Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and support staff
Reliable, professional demeanor and commitment to patient safety

Education

Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technologist program; CST preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Thorough knowledge of sterile technique and aseptic practice
Familiarity with common surgical instruments and implant handling
Ability to perform accurate instrument and sponge counts
Understanding of operating room workflows and case turnover processes
Basic familiarity with electronic documentation and charting
Excellent situational awareness and the ability to anticipate clinical needs
