Shift Type: Orientation shift (4 hours) beginning 05/08/2026; exact regular OR shift schedule and days to be confirmed with hiring manager

Candidate Pay Rate: $39 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Assist the surgical team by setting up and maintaining a sterile field and instruments
Prepare patients and OR rooms so cases run smoothly and safely
Pass instruments and supplies efficiently during procedures to support the surgeon
Perform instrument counts and document perioperative activities accurately
Collaborate with nursing and surgical staff to uphold infection control and patient safety standards
Participate in orientation and training to rapidly become an effective member of the OR team

Qualifications

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or completion of an accredited surgical technologist program preferred
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain during onboarding
Current credentials that meet facility HR and state requirements
Strong attention to sterile technique, detail, and patient safety
Ability to pass background check and mandated credential verification

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required
Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of surgical instruments, trays, and sterile processing
Skilled in maintaining aseptic technique and OR safety protocols
Efficient, calm performance under pressure during cases
Clear communication skills for teamwork in the operating room
Familiarity with perioperative documentation and instrument counts
