Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide continuous airway management and ventilator support for adult, pediatric and neonatal patients
• Manage invasive and non-invasive ventilators including PB 980, PB 840 and V60 models
• Operate transport ventilators such as the ParaPac during patient transfers
• Perform advanced life support interventions including CPR and collaborate with physicians during critical events
• Document patient care accurately using computerized charting systems
• Use Pyxis medication management systems to ensure safe medication administration
• Deliver compassionate patient- and family-centered respiratory care across acuity levels
• Support unit teams with assessments, interventions and timely clinical communication

Qualifications

• State of Hawaii Respiratory Therapy License required by assignment start date
• Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience
• BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications required
• RRT preferred
• NRP preferred
• Proof of flu vaccination or an approved medical or religious exception required prior to start
• No first assignments (as stated in job requirements)

Knowledge & Skills

• Airway management and ventilator management expertise
• Experience with non-invasive ventilation
• Comfort caring for adult, pediatric and neonatal populations
• Familiarity with PB 980, PB 840, V60 ventilators and ParaPac transport ventilator
• Computerized charting and Pyxis medication management experience
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking and physician consulting skills
• CPR and advanced life support skills
