Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM; schedule follows a 3 nights one week (36 hours) and 4 nights the next week (48 hours) pattern; every other weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) and holiday rotation

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide specialized respiratory care for neonatal and pediatric patients in the NICU
• Perform diagnostic and functional respiratory tests to guide care and treatment plans
• Initiate and manage IV starts and removals as clinically indicated
• Perform phlebotomy and assist with specimen collection when needed
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and monitor patient progress
• Educate families and caregivers on respiratory equipment, treatments, and discharge plans
• Collaborate with the NICU team to ensure safe, high quality patient care and smooth handoffs

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
• NICU experience required and demonstrated competence in neonatal respiratory care
• Proven skills in phlebotomy and IV starts/removals
• Active state respiratory therapy license or eligibility to obtain licensure
• Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work well in a team
• Current BLS for Healthcare Providers (or willingness to obtain prior to start)

Education

• Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy or completion of an accredited respiratory program
• Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy program

Knowledge & Skills

• Neonatal ventilation and respiratory support strategies
• Diagnostic and functional respiratory testing
• Phlebotomy and IV therapy techniques
• Patient monitoring and assessment
• Treatment planning and care coordination
• Family education and compassionate bedside manner
• Electronic medical record documentation and basic computer skills
