Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Night shift, 8/10-hour shifts; deferred schedule, must be willing to work assigned shifts (no block schedules)
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $47 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide skilled, compassionate care to a high-acuity surgery/trauma patient population, including post-surgical, gunshot wound, quadriplegic, and paraplegic patients
- Collaborate with nursing support techs, phlebotomists, and unit secretaries to deliver coordinated, team-based care
- Maintain a 5:1 patient ratio while prioritizing rapid assessments and critical interventions
- Partner with ED nurses and admitting staff to complete thorough patient handoffs and ensure seamless continuity of care
- Document all care accurately in EPIC, adhering to high-acuity nursing standards
- Adapt quickly to a fast-paced trauma unit and respond confidently to changing patient conditions
Qualifications
- Active and unencumbered RN license (Georgia or compact NLC accepted)
- Current BLS certification required
- ACLS certification strongly preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a surgical/trauma or high-acuity nursing setting
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records required
- Ability to work flexible night shifts and assigned schedules (no block scheduling)
Knowledge & Skills
- In-depth knowledge of trauma nursing, including spinal cord injuries and post-surgical complications
- Strong critical thinking, triage, and rapid assessment abilities
- Excellent communication and teamwork for multidisciplinary collaboration
- Comfortable with high-acuity and often vulnerable patient populations
- Resilience and composure in high-pressure situations
- EPIC charting proficiency
