Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist during examinations and procedures to ensure smooth patient flow
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment while maintaining a safe environment
• Take dental impressions, digital scans, and x-rays as needed
• Educate patients on orthodontic care and appliance maintenance
• Update patient records and treatment plans using Denticon software
• Provide compassionate care and comfort to every patient throughout their visit

Qualifications

• Active orthodontic certification as required in Maryland
• Hands-on experience with orthodontic assisting in a dental office
• Familiarity with Denticon or similar dental practice management software
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to connect with patients
• Ability to stand for extended periods and assist with chairside procedures

Knowledge & Skills

• In-depth knowledge of orthodontic instruments, materials, and procedures
• Skill in taking dental impressions and digital scans
• Proficiency in dental radiography and safety protocols
• Understanding of infection control and sterilization standards
• Excellent patient education and chairside manner
